Tuan Haji Azizi bin Che Seman
Tuan Haji Azizi currently holds the position of Chairman of Agrobank’s Shariah Committee starting June 1, 2021. He has started serving as a member of the Shariah Committee starting June 2015. He is currently a senior lecturer at Department of Shariah and Economics, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya, a position he held since 2002. He received his first degree in Shariah (Hons.) from University of Malaya in 1996. He then completed his Master Degree in Economics from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2001. He is involved in the field of academic writings in addition to paper presentations at the national and international seminars and conferences related to Muamalat, Islamic banking and Islamic finance. Tn. Haji Azizi’s specialisation areas are in Islamic Capital Market, Islamic Economics and Fiqh Muamalat.
At the beginning of his career in Islamic Financial Institutions (IFI), he was appointed as a shariah committee member of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (BMMB) in 2005. Currently, he has been entrusted as the chairman of BMMB’s Shariah Committee. He is also the Chairman of Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM) AIBIM’s Shariah Advisory Committee, a Member of Sun Life Takaful’s Shariah Committee, a Member of Shariah Committee at Amara Investment Management Sdn Bhd and previously served IBFIM as one of the Member of Shariah Committee.

Y.M. Engku Ahmad Fadzil bin Y.M. Engku Ali
Y.M. Engku Ahmad Fadzil currently holds the position of Director at Tijarah Hatimurni Sdn Bhd. He holds a Master’s Degree in Islamic Judiciary from University of Jordan and successfully accomplished his Bachelor Degree in Laws and second Degree in Shariah Laws from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 1993 and 1994 respectively. He was appointed as an advocate and solicitor at the High Court of Malaya in 1995. He was also a lecturer at International Islamic University Malaysia from 1994 until 2014 where he taught Law of Successions, Islamic Jurisprudence, Malaysian Legal System and Islamic Criminal Laws. Previously, Y.M Engku Ahmad Fadzil was a member of the fatwa research panel of Jabatan Mufti Kerajaan Negeri Sembilan and a Senior Fellow at the Institut Kajian Strategik Islam Malaysia (IKSIM). At the end of 2020, he was appointed as a member of the Fatwa Committee Member for the State of Pahang and he is also qualified to deliver Islamic teachings in Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak, Selangor, Penang and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
Apart from being a Member of the Shariah Committee of Agrobank since 2015, he serves as a member of Shariah Committee for Public Islamic Bank and AIA Takaful Berhad. He previously served Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad as a Shariah Committee from 2005 to 2020.

Tn. Haji Jahaidi bin Harun
Tn. Haji Jahaidi was appointed as a member of the Shariah Committee for Agrobank since June 2015. He is an ex-Islamic banking practitioner with wide exposure in Islamic banking industry in Malaysia and Indonesia. He obtained his first degree in Bachelor of Economic (Hons.) from University Malaya in 1978. After graduation, he started his journey in the banking industry by joining Maybank as a remittance officer at Ipoh Main Branch. He served Maybank in various capacity such as Branch Manager for 5 branches, Head Commercial Business Perak State, Head of Sales Islamic Banking Division, Head of Sale Corporate & Commercial Maybank Islamic Berhad (MIB), Head Risk Management MIB and Head Strategic Management and Product Development for Maybank Syariah Indonesia (MSI). Among his greatest contribution in Banking Industry is he was appointed as Project Manager for conversion of PT Maybank Indocorp to PT Maybank Syariah Indonesia and Project Manager for the conversion of Maybank Islamic Division to Maybank Islamic Bhd.

Dr. Shafaai bin Musa
Dr. Shafaai Musa currently is a Chairman of The Board Shariah Committee at CIMB Islamic Bank. He received his first degree in Shariah from Al-Azhar University as the best student of the faculty of Shariah in 1991. He then successfully completed his Master in Comparative Law from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and subsequently obtained a Doctorate from Glasgow Caledonian University both under IIUM sponsorship scheme.
For the past 26 years of his career, Dr. Shafaai served at the International Islamic University Malaysia in various capacities. In 1992, he started his career as Assistant Lecturer at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws. In 2002, he served as Head of the Department of Islamic Law for three years and later, seconded to IIUM Centre For Continuing Education as Executive Director. In 2010, he had been seconded to International Islamic College as Chief Executive Officer until December 2012, followed by secondment to the office of Chief Minister of Johor as CEO of Johor Institute of Integrity, Leadership and Training for two years.
In Islamic banking industry, Dr. Shafaai had been appointed as Chairman of Shariah Committee at Southern Bank Berhad in 2004. He later joins CIMB Islamic Bank as Member of Shariah Committee since 2006 and appointed as Chairman in 2019. Besides Southern Bank Berhad and CIMB, He had served Celcom Axiata as Shariah Advisor, Sunlife Malaysia and CIMB Aviva Takaful as Chairman of Shariah Committee.

Dr. Abdullaah bin Jalil
Dr. Abdullaah Jalil currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). He has almost seventeen years of teaching, writing, research and advisory experience in the fields of Muamalat, Islamic Banking and Finance.
He was an alumnus of the Sultan Ahmad Shah Islamic College (KISAS) before completing his Bachelor of Shariah (Fiqh and Islamic Studies) with First Class Honours from Yarmouk University, Jordan. He later continued and completed his studies in the Master of Business Administration (Islamic Banking and Finance) program at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) and the Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Finance at INCEIF (The Global University of Islamic Finance). In 2012, he was appointed as one of the Expert Panel for the Compilation of Program Standards: Muamalat and Islamic Finance under the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
He currently holds the position of Chairman of the Shariah Committee at Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad and is currently appointed as a member of the Shariah Committee at Mizuho Bank (Malaysia) and Agrobank. He used to serve as a member of the Shariah Committee at Bank Rakyat from 2012 to 2021. He is also a member of the USIM Shariah Panel Committee since its inception and is one of the Fatwa Research panel at the Negeri Sembilan Mufti Department.
He is involved in the field of academic writings in addition to paper presentations at the national and international seminars and conferences related to Muamalat, Islamic banking and Islamic finance.

Associate Professor Dr. Sharifah Faigah binti Syed Alwi
She is currently a senior lecturer at Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School, Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Her lectures in UiTM and visiting professorship assignment in Indonesia cover among others Usul Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), Fiqh Muamalat (Islamic Law of Transaction), Islamic Finance dan Islamic Financial Regulatory Framework and Governance. She received her bachelor’s degree in Shariah (Economics) and her master’s degree in Shariah (Islamic Banking) from the University of Malaya in 1995 and 2004 respectively. She then obtained her Doctoral degree in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2012. At the same time, she is also one of the panels of assessor of Malaysian Qualifications Agency and the external examiner/assessor for Islamic banking and finance programmes offered in a few universities in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Her area of expertise is more into the application of Shariah in Islamic banking and finance products especially in Islamic trade finance facilities.
Previously, Dr. Sharifah Faigah was appointed as a Shariah Committee member at Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad and United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad. Currently, she serves Maybank Islamic Berhad as one of the Shariah Committee members. Starting June 2021, she is one of the members of the Bank’s Shariah Committee.
