Agrobank Media Awards Recognise Outstanding Work of 16 Media Practitioners
Agrobank today honoured 16 media practitioners from across the country during the Agrobank Media Awards 2024/2025, held at the Sheraton Hotel, Petaling Jaya. This prestigious event recognises the efforts and commitment of journalists and media practitioners who have contributed to high-quality information regarding the agricultural sector and food security.
According to Agrobank’s President/Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin, “As a development financial institution (DFI), Agrobank greatly values our media partners who consistently support, report and serve as a bridge between the institution and the public. The media plays a crucial role in strengthening the positive narrative about modern agriculture, food security and various initiatives by the government to develop this sector.”
Earlier, Agrobank launched its AI persona known as “Siti,” as part of its digital transformation initiative within the banking sector. Siti serves as a virtual assistant designed to make banking information more accessible and efficient for customers. This initiative reflects Agrobank’s commitment to enhancing customer experience and service efficiency in the digital era, aligned with current technological advancements and customer needs. The Agrobank Media Awards ceremony also witnessed the launch of the Agro Biz Awards 2025, a prestigious award that aims to recognize excellence and outstanding contributions by industry players in strengthening the nation’s food security agenda.
Entries for the Agro Biz Awards 2025 will open starting June 16, 2025. This award features five (5) main categories:
• Agrobank SME of the Year
• Agrobank Biz Women Award
• Agrobank Biz Youth Award
• Agrobank Biz Innovation Award
• Agrobank Biz Disability Empowerment Award
Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah also added that, “As a provider of financial solutions, Agrobank is honoured to recognise the excellence of industry players in the farming community who contribute to agriculture, fisheries, plantation, livestock and other areas along the entire food chain. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) themed ceremony was enlivened by the presence of distinguished guests including Datuk Seri Isham Bin Ishak, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security), Datuk Yong Soo Heong, President of the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI), Mr. Ainol Amriz Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI), and Kamaruddin Mape, General Manager, On Air Presentation (OAP), NCA Division.
