Agrobank Widens Banking Ecosystem to Bukit Pelanduk Through New Agropoint Establishment

Agrobank inaugurated its newest Agropoint in Bukit Pelanduk, Negeri Sembilan, today, marking a significant milestone in expanding banking accessibility to rural communities.

Located strategically in Taman Merpati, the new Agropoint is equipped with modern banking facilities, including ATM and Cash-In-Cash-Out machines. It offers comprehensive banking services such as account opening, ATM card issuance, and various fee-based products, including Takaful and will-writing services. The facility will also provide advisory services for retail and microfinancing products.

Dato’ Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin, President/Chief Executive Officer of Agrobank, said, “The opening of our Agropoint in Bukit Pelanduk represents more than just expanding our physical presence – it embodies our commitment to financial inclusion and community development. As the first bank to establish a physical network with counter services in this area, we are fulfilling our mandated role of serving the unserved and underserved communities, particularly those in the agricultural sector. This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to provide accessible banking services while supporting the socio-economic development of rural communities.”

The new Agropoint will serve approximately 20,000 residents in the Chuah constituency and cater
to various economic activities, including oil palm plantations, fishery, tourism, and small businesses. The facility operates five days a week during normal banking hours and is staffed by trained customer service representatives who provide personalised financial advisory services.

This expansion is part of Agrobank’s broader strategy to enhance banking accessibility while supporting the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) development in the Port Dickson area, contributing
to the region’s economic growth and community development.

The ceremonial launch was officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Aminuddin Haji Harun, Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan, highlighting the state government’s support for initiatives that
enhance financial inclusion and rural development. This establishment demonstrated Agrobank’s
commitment to serving the unserved and underserved communities while supporting the state’s vision of becoming a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable state by 2045, as outlined in the Negeri Sembilan Structure Plan 2045.
