Takaful Ikhlas Berhad And Agrobank Establish A 5-year Strategic Collaboration



Kuala Lumpur, 27 March 2017 – Takaful Ikhlas Berhad (Takaful IKHLAS), a wholly owned subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB), signed a memorandum of understanding for a period of 5 years with Agrobank as their Preferred Takaful Partner.

In celebrating the strategic partnership, a signing ceremony was held between Takaful IKHLAS which was represented by Hj. Wan Rosli Shaharuddin Wan Yaacob, Chief Commercial Officer – Family and Encik Jeffry Shah Abdul Wahab, Chief Commercial Officer – General from Takaful IKHLAS while Encik Mad Yusof Yazid, Chief Services Officer and Tuan Syed Hairul Anuar Syed Fadzil, Regional Director Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan and Selangor represented Agrobank. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Datuk Hj. Ab Latiff bin Hj. Abu Bakar, President and Chief Executive Officer of Takaful IKHLAS and Dato’ Wan Mohd Fadzmi Wan Othman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Agrobank.

“The collaboration makes it possible for both parties to make a good and comprehensive business projection. Moreover, it also fulfills the customers’ need through Personal Accident Takaful, Mortgage Takaful (MRTT), Group Credit Term Takaful (GCTT), Group Family Takaful, Family Takaful Plans for education, retirement and medical, Motor Takaful, Fire Takaful and other Non-Motor Takaful,” says Datuk Ab Latiff.

“The collaboration between Takaful IKHLAS and Agrobank is not something new as it has started since more than 10 years ago. Today’s memorandum of understanding is made for a period of 5 years for both Family Takaful and General Takaful. This proves the readiness and commitment between both parties to strengthen the partnership for a longer period of time. We are pleased to be granted the trust and hence be appointed as their Preferred Takaful Partner,” adds Datuk Ab Latiff.

“Agrobank and Takaful IKHLAS Berhad shares a common goal, that is to provide a comprehensive and Shariah-compliant financial services which is beneficial to the customers. Based on this spirit, we have agreed to take the collaboration to another higher level – namely a 5-year collaboration for Takaful Ikhlas as the Preferred Takaful Partner.”

“We are determined to strengthen the collaboration we currently have with the main objective to develop a special takaful coverage for the agro group as well as for the‘unserved’ and ‘underserved’ groups,” says Dato Wan Mohd Fadzmi Wan Othman, President/Chief Executive Officer.

To start the collaboration, Takaful IKHLAS and Agrobank launched Agro Nurani which is a Takaful Plan specifically created for the Disabled in January. The Takaful protection is the first of its kind in the country.

To proceed with the collaboration, Takaful IKHLAS and Agrobank will launch an educational takaful plan around mid-year this year.
